Video-Judicial Candidate Forum, Feb 12th, hosted by CCYC

A video of the Feb 11, 2012 Judicial Candidate Forum, hosted by the Collin College Young Conservatives has just been uploaded. These students did an excellent job and I hope that you will watch the video, get to know the judicial candidates on the ballot, and share this information with all your friends and family in North Texas.

All of the candidates that participated in this forum will be on the ballot in Collin County and many of them will appear on the ballot in several counties, and one will be state-wide:

North Texas Tea Party
Vetting Committee
Announcement
1 February 2011

Our team has been vetting a large number of candidates in various North Texas races for some time and we will continue.  Generally we invite each candidate from a race, only certain races, to visit with four team members.  Over the period of about an hour & a half we ask various questions related to their race and try to get to know the candidate.  Our principles can be found at our home page and what NTTP "TeaApproved” means can be found at:

http://northtexasteaparty.org/teaapproved/

In addition, we research the candidate by studying their record, seeing their performance at various forums & debates, and closely review their donation history on the Texas Ethics Commission web site.  On rare occasion we do not meet with a candidate because of our prior knowledge of the individual and our research.  Any vetting member who has already committed to a candidate excludes themselves from any votes on that candidate.

The NTTP "TeaApproved" is not endorsing any candidate.  That is left to individual team members.  It is possible that more than one candidate in a race might be NTTP TeaApproved.

At this point we whole hearty give NTTP “TeaApproved” to

• Ken Paxton - Texas Senate District 8

• Van Taylor – Texas  House District 66

• Jeff Leach – Texas House District 67

• Matt Beebe – Texas House District 121

• Bob Hall - Texas Senate District 2

More announcements will be made as we progress.

Our best wishes to all we have TeaApproved.

How about this reply by Senator Hutchison to a citizen asking what she was doing about an injustice to a border patrol agent?

From: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison [mailto:senator@hutchison.senate.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 9:22 AM
Subject: Constituent Response From Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison

Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the very distressing situation of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jesus Diaz.  I share your concerns.

On October 20, 2011, Agent Jesus Diaz, Jr. was sentenced to two years in federal prison for improperly restraining a 15 year-old suspected drug smuggler.  Agent Diaz testified that he handcuffed the teenage suspect and used physical force to put him on the ground only after the teenager resisted arrest.  Nevertheless, the Mexican government pressured our government to prosecute Agent Diaz for excessive use of force, and he was subsequently arrested, prosecuted, and convicted of using excessive force.  Key to Diaz’ conviction was the testimony of the teenage drug smuggler, who was given immunity by the federal prosecutor.

Many people believe that Agent Diaz was unfairly prosecuted and convicted.  Pending legal appeal of his conviction, I have written to Attorney General Eric Holder to ask why the Justice Department pursued the case after Agent Diaz had been cleared of any wrongdoing by two different internal reviews.

The dedicated U.S. Border Patrol keeps our borders and our local communities safe and secure. Agent Diaz’ case stands in stark contrast to the plight of Americans who have been arrested in Mexico.  In Mexico, there are repeated, credible reports of trumped up or falsified charges, witness intimidation (including murder), constant solicitations of bribes by Mexican officials, routine torture of prisoners, and worse.  These unchecked abuses raise serious questions about continued law enforcement cooperation and relations between our two countries.

I appreciate hearing from you, and I hope you will not hesitate to contact me on any issue of concern to you.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison
United States Senator

A History lesson.  Let us not ignore facts, real historical facts.  Put aside your presuppositions and look at the facts.

The day the Democrats took over our government was not January 22nd 2009; it was actually January 3rd 2007.  They took the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democratic Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

• January 3rd, 2007, the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress:
• The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
• The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
• The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
• George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
• Remember that day...
• January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). Barney blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac?   OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?  OBAMA and the Democrat Congress, especially BARNEY!!!!

So when someone tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.

Budgets do not come from the White House... They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.  In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for, and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."

How the “Party of the Incumbents” Tries to Keep Challengers Out of Government.
by Mary Lou Bruner
Recently Dan Flynn got an A+ Report Card from a group of impressive Conservative Organizations in Texas. But many Texans are wondering how someone who got an A+ Report Card for his conservative stand on the issues could back someone who got “F’s” and failing grades from most conservative organizations… Why would someone who consistently votes conservative support a man such as Bob Deuell who consistently votes with the liberal Democrats?
We cannot understand why Dan Flynn has endorsed Bob Deuell, a RINO with the following liberal record.
*Bob Deuell proposed raising taxes and fees to balance the budget. He did this recently during the 82nd legislative session.
*Bob Deuell continues to advocate for a significant increase in the tax on gasoline.
*Bob Deuell has consistently voted for bills which expanded government intrusion in the private sector.
*In March of this year Bob Deuell proposed using the entire Rainy Day Fund to help balance the budget.
*Bob Deuell introduced legislation to use taxpayer money to buy needles for drug users.
*Bob Deuell prefers appointed judges instead of elected judges. Electing judges prevents cronyism and makes judges more accountable to the people rather than to a party or a politician.
*Bob Deuell sponsored a bill in the 81st legislative session which would allow the VOTERS LIVING INSIDE THE CITY LIMITS to levy a special tax on CITIZENS LIVING OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS. This amounts to taxation without representation.
*Bob Deuell was instrumental in blocking the appointment of a Christian Conservative as Chairman of the State Board of Education during the 82nd legislative session.
Why is Dan Flynn, a conservative, supporting a RINO like Bob Deuell who might as well be a Democrat considering his voting record? Perhaps there is a logical answer.
Perhaps Dan Flynn is supporting Bob Deuell because they are both members of the “Party of the Incumbents”, a group of “elitists” and “good ole boys from both political parties” who help each other get re-elected year after year, after year regardless of the effectiveness of the incumbent or his or her voting record. It seems like a conservative would want to support other conservatives instead of a liberal RINO legislator who consistently votes for higher taxes, bigger government, and more restrictions and regulations.
We must get the attention of Incumbents who believe “Politics as Usual” is acceptable. Some of them must be fired because they have failing grades. Bob Deuell is one who should be fired.
